Region 31 Annual Stalwart Recognition Dinner
NewsLocal officers and members are invited to celebrate Region 31's Stalwarts on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Chuck's Southern Comforts in Darien.
The evening begins with a cash bar at 4:30 p.m., followed by welcome and introductions at 4:45 p.m., dinner at 5:00 p.m., and presentations at 6:00 p.m. Dinner is $50 per person. Region 31 will cover the full dinner cost for the Local Stalwart and one guest, and half the dinner cost ($25) for Region Council representatives. Each Local Association should select a member to recognize and complete one reservation form for the Local; contact an SSA officer for reservation and payment information.

Your bargaining team has met with administration five times since the start of March, with more dates scheduled. Fun fact: the prep team has met 36 times off the clock — over 150 unpaid hours. Important dates: local nominations and SSA scholarship due April 6, union meeting April 21, local elections May 7, and a union meeting May 19.

One Job Should Be Enough!
NewsSSA members spoke at the February 23 Board of Education meeting in support of a livable wage.
Some of our Association members went to the Board of Education business meeting on Monday, February 23rd to speak about our roles and the impact we have on District 99 — in support of the idea that one job should be enough if you work a full-time position here at D99, and that we all should be paid a livable wage.
